According to the California Department of Insurance, a 64-year-old woman from the Sacramento area pleaded no contest to two felonies involving theft of more than $100,000 from her mother. The woman was sentenced to 18 months in jail, five years of probation and to repay $60,000 in restitution.

Man sentenced to prison for SeaWorld embezzlement scheme
On Sept. 23, it was reported that a 48-year-old California man who was the former manager of SeaWorld in San Diego was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to embezzlement. According to the report, he had taken more than $800,000 from the park.
